Our History and Goals

This website is the result of the work of the non-profit organization, The Center for Parenting Education, founded in 1997. This site was developed by Audrey Krisbergh, the Center’s Director, and Deb Cohen, Assistant Director.

The content on this site was inspired by Diane Wagenhals during her years at Parents Network and now at Lakeside Global Initiative and through the thousands of interactions our Parenting Educators had with families over the years.

Debra MacDonald, a dedicated Certified Parenting Educator since 2006, has now taken on the role of Site Director and continues to provide this information to parents everywhere.

The goal of this site is to educate and support parents to raise their children in emotionally healthy ways so that their children can thrive personally, socially and academically.

By emphasizing the importance of providing children with a balance of unconditional love as well as the need for setting firm and reasonable limits, we strive to empower parents with the skills necessary for raising responsible children in today’s world.

Parents play a critical role in the healthy development of children. I believe that educational programs have a positive impact on children, families and communities.
~Audrey Krisbergh
